Reshade Client - New Version 1.4

Filed under: Stand-alone Reshade, Reshade development — subpic @ 11:30 am

Changes since version 1.3:

  • speed optimizations including support for SSE instruction set of modern desktop CPUs (Intel Pentium III / AMD Athlon XP or newer)
    • speed improvements range from 30% to over 100% (depending on image size)
  • Reshade can now also shrink images: zoom factors smaller than 1 are allowed
    • sharpening (texture) and smoothing also work when down-scaling an image
  • go to save folder check box (in save dialog): automatically open an explorer window to the folder you are saving an image to when resizing finishes
  • pop-up full file path in status-bar
  • more accurate prediction for completion time in the save progress dialog
  • better placement for best colors, renamed to best edges (more suitable)
  • fixed: save image while refreshing hasn’t finished yet
  • fixed: watermark notice on very small images crashed the program sometimes

Site update

Filed under: Online reshade, Reshade development — subpic @ 5:04 pm

Changes:

  • fixed bug with thumbnail zoom images overlapping each other
  • changed to smaller thumbnails so that more images fit on 1024 px wide screens
  • fixed bug on gallery page when using Opera internet browser
  • updates to details page (where you get to select the resize resolution)
    • resized it to fit on 800 px wide screens
    • added zoom ratio on the image details page to better grasp the level of resizing made
    • changed the way smaller images are placed on the details page
    • changed where quick info is placed on details page; wider container to make it easier to follow the text
    • changed how cropping works when original zoom is selected in the resolution drop-down: now it crops the selection and not just return the original
    • fixed problem when selecting crop for the first time: constrain is automatically visible, the crop box is centered on the image
    • fixed bug with crop tool: sometimes it displayed vertical lines at box margins
  • resizes are processed more than twice (sometimes even 3 times) as fast since the last update
  • some changes have been made to the smoothing method; the resulting images look less smudged now

Server downtime

There has been a network outage recently. Our service providers are upgrading their hardware, and some packet loss was experienced. Hope you didn’t have to wait long for the site to get back up and running.
